Has anyone implemented this in their Mastodon fork? https://foryoufeed.vercel.app
I kinda like it.
@rolle https://agorasocial.app/#/ does this, fork of phanpy which includes this foryou feed.
@laurenshof Nice! Would be great to see something like this implemented in Mastodon itself.
@laurenshof @rolle I am not completely comfortable with this one.
The “for you” feed that agorasocial.app provides to me contains posts and users which are completely unknown from my local instance.
Where did it take them from ? How did it determine that they could interest me ?
The app states that it’s a purely static site and provides a privacy policy. But I am fearing that it submitted my profile to some black box IA.
@laurenshof @rolle I’d like a clear statement about the main algorithms involved in agorasocial.app’s “For You” feed, similar to https://getmammoth.wordpress.com/2023/12/09/whats-this-for-you-feed-is-it-algorithmic/
Poke @andrew
@barijaona @laurenshof @rolle @andrew Sure thing! I'll write up a more in-depth post in a bit, but for context, @agora 's "For You" feed integrates the same open source FediAlgo library that foryoufeed.vercel.app uses:
@rolle It's neat but at the same time, I don't feel like it's doing much other than randomizing the order of my feed to be honest.
@tchambers @newsmast Hmm, how does it work?
@tchambers @rolle @newsmast We’ll check it out! Definitely looks interesting
