Has the latest update changed the game in a positive enough way, in your opinion?
I know it's just the start of many future big changes, but I've been thinking about reactivating my subscription and was wondering if now would be a good time.
Or maybe I should wait a bit and play another MMO in the meantime?
@BeAware I don’t know that the *latest* update clanged much significantly — not for me at least. A few little quality of life improvements, but nothing major.
But I’ve been playing since the beta, 11+ years ago, along with a couple of family members, so the game has been working for me from the start.
I’ll say that the last big expansion, The Gold Road, had some of the best writing they’ve had yet. And the recent companion, Sharp-As-Night, is brilliant.
So, make of that what you will. 
@MythingPerson ahh, okay. I was thinking maybe the Champion point changes for those certain skills being changed to passive might have significantly changed that portion of things, but maybe it hasn't in a big enough way.
I know they're working on big changes so they can move the game into a "seasonal" type game and update 45 was just the first of many updates coming this year.
@BeAware The Champion Point changes were definitely nice (and long overdue), but they're in the branch that is mostly all quality of life things, like more gold from chests, and faster riding speed. So I got to make use of a couple of functions that I couldn't easily use before, which I'll happily take.
They're doing a 2025 roadmap thing next week, it might be worth checking out if you think it could influence your choice. :-)

I am having a lot of fun playing Arcanist. It doesn’t require as much weaving (or any) for most builds and changes the combat in a positive way; for me.
